Dowsing, Protection and Geomantic House Cleaning

Of all of the geomantic activities, psychic house cleaning is by far the most dangerous to the dowser. To begin with, there are a number of things the dowser must know before beginning such an operation. One must start by being a very competent dowser – entities in a house can be real tricksters and fool the neophyte dowser into doing things that can get her/him in to big trouble. House cleaning isn’t just staking the veins of water that run under someone’s home – that is just the beginning, and it requires great skill as well. This skill can not be picked up in one weekend workshop. The dowser must also know how to protect him/herself against the various things one can encounter when cleaning a house. You also need to learn safe techniques for assisting entities, or discarnates, to the other side – which is well beyond the scope of this article.

So let’s start with dowsing skills. Honestly, like the man who asked someone on the streets of New York, “How do you get to Carnegie Hall?”, the answer is “Practice!” and time. Anyone can become a proficient dowser, but it does take time – a year at least, if not more. It actually doesn’t make much difference what you dowse, it is the repetitive act of dowsing that is important here. I personally feel that it is always useful for a beginning dowser to hook up with a good water well dowser at least for a while. So many things – the way I see it – are connected with these under ground veins of primary water. First, of course, the ability to find good potable drinking water is going to become more and more essential as people pollute more and more of our present drinking water sources. But in addition to that, I feel there is a connection with sacred space and this primary water. Standing stones usually have two veins of water crossing under the stone and they enter and exit at the corners of the stone. Health problems – especially degenerative diseases like arthritis and cancer and auto-immune diseases have been connected with spending time over underground veins of water. And finally, I find that discarnates – ghosties and ghoulies and things that go bump in the night – get their nourishment from the yin energies that come from flowing veins of primary underground water. So first, become a proficient dowser. The BSD is instituting a planned course of dowsing instruction starting this autumn with a course for dowsing tutors.

Protection is also something that takes a while to learn and to use. It is rather amazing how many old time water dowsers in the United States wear copper bracelets because they developed arthritis. When one opens oneself up to finding these veins, one opens oneself up to receiving the negative aspects of them as well as good drinking water. To see the effect, once you have learned how to dowse for an underground vein, with their permission, dowse someone’s aura off the vein, and then on. You will see that the aura has shrunk in quite a bit when they stand on the vein. It is as if the yin energy works like a hoover, sucking up your life force. Please be sure to check their aura off the vein after that – always leave your client/dowsing target in a healthy state.

So, how can psychic protection be achieved? Of course, there are numerous ways to do this from very quick and simple to quite complicated. The system I use is one that I developed when I realized that there is a connection between the Lord’s Prayer (which I call the “Lord and Lady’s Prayer”) and the chakras. I feel that I need to say at this point that I am not a Christian. I walk the Rainbow Path where I honour all spiritual paths with heart, and I intend to unite with the parts of each that work for me, and not worry about those parts that don’t. I feel this is the way we all can work with all religions – with heart. Having said that, Jesus rides very comfortably in my own heart. My point here is that you don’t have to be a Christian to use this prayer.

To begin with, from top to bottom, my names for the chakras are:

Crown – top of head

Brow – third eye – on your brow just above your eyes

Throat – Adam’s Apple

Heart - heart

Solar – Solar Plexus

Sacral – just below the navel

Root – at base of spine

If you have other words for these chakras, by all means, use yours. You will notice that this prayer does not go in any apparent order, and that some chakras are visited more than once. The idea here is by the end to get all of them going at the same time

So Let’s get going. You might find it useful to touch that particular chakra point on your body when saying this prayer. Using your hands will prove important when visualizing the protection aspects of this prayer as well:

The Lord and Lady’s Prayer

“Our Mother Father who art in heaven. . .” This is the Crown Chakra

“Hallowed Be thy Name. . . “ Throat Chakra. Adam’s job was naming things. The Adam’s Apple is named after this.

“Thy Kingdom come. . .” Root Chakra. In the Hebrew Cabbala, the bottom of the Tree of Life is called Malkuth/Kingdom.

“Thy will be done. . .” Brow Chakra. I put the seat of the will in the third eye.

“On Earth. . .” Root Chakra

“As it is in Heaven.” Crown Chakra

“Give us this day our daily bread. . .” Solar Chakra. The stomach.

“And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Heart Chakra. To truly forgive someone, there must be a heart to heart connection.

“And lead us not into temptation. . .” Sacral Chakra. The seat of the emotions. I always think of the American comedian Flip Wilson saying, “The Devil made me do it, The Devil made me do it!”

“But deliver us from Evil.” - at this point, my hands go up and around me in a great circle of protection. When they return to the base of my spine:

“For Thine is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory, for ever and ever.” With this line, my hands crisscross from my base to my crown – much like Hamish Miller’s Michael and Mary Lines, or the serpents on Mercury’s caduceus, or like the twin serpents, the ida and pingala of the kundalini.

“Aum-men.” Once again, my hands fall from the top of my head around my body to the floor.

Essentially, this will give you an excellent cloak of protection any time you dowse for whatever you dowse for.

Of course, there are many other ways of doing this. There are several good books that I would recommend. The first one was written over sixty years ago by Dion Fortune, “Psychic Self-Defense” Red Wheel/Weiser, ISBN: 1578631513. Published most recently in 2001. The other is by William Bloom, “Psychic Protection: Creating Positive Energies for People and Places.” Piatkus Books. ISBN: 0749916036. Published in 1996.

Once you have learned to competently dowse and to protect yourself, you are ready to learn how to get involved in healing both on the person to person level, and to clean houses. It is not the purpose of this brief article to teach these skills. They take more time, and have their own areas of potential danger.

For example, in spiritual Healing, it is critical that you see yourself as a channel rather than as a battery/the Source. In that way, the person’s disease will not come to roost on you.

With psychic house cleaning, one must first clear the house of any discarnates BEFORE doing the easy bit – staking the veins of water. Remember, things like ghosts feed off of these veins, and if you remove or neutralize the veins, the discarnates will, like smack freaks deprived of their heroin, go cold turkey, and start feeding off of you.

In conclusion, this kind of work is very rewarding if done carefully and with expertise. Beware: weekend workshops that teach you how to clean houses are actually potentially very dangerous – unless you have done the kinds of preparation work described in this article.

I need to end this piece by saying that each one of us sees dowsing and the spirit world slightly differently. If you experience things differently for what you have heard here, by all means, do it your way! Each of us must ultimately walk the path slightly differently, and that’s not only ok, but the way it is.
