Westmorland Dowsers – Programme of events for 2017

Meetings generally last Saturday of the month at Shap Memorial Hall

10.00 am for a 10.30 start unless otherwise stated.

January 28th – Pat Toms - Intuitive association with the form of things and the layout of ancient and traditional built form” Location: Shap Hall – although this is mainly indoors, please note Pat will be doing some work with us outside, so please bring appropriate (warm!) outdoor clothing £5 (£7 non-members)

February 25th – The Power of Symbols - Sue Turnbull and Louise Moss – interactive workshop

Louise will run an interactive workshop in the morning – please bring some flattish stones and/or pieces of wood with you if you have some –smallish but big enough to draw simple symbols on (I will have spares), and Sue will intrigue you with the power of Runes in the afternoon!

March 25th – Crop Circles; What are they for? Who creates them? PLEASE NOTE THIS MEETING WILL BE AT CROSBY RAVENSWORTH VILLAGE HALL CA10 3JP (close to Shap)

April 29th - Mayburgh Henge – field visit. £5 (£7 non-members)

May 27th - Claire Heron – Sacred Wells & Pools - talk at Shap Memorial Hall & field visit.

June 24th – Jean Scott-Smith: return field visit to Brougham Castle, nr. Penrith. Amazing site with possible past life connections (meet there 10 am)

English Heritage site. Jean led a meeting here last year, and members found this an intriguing site, with much to discover including for some, past life connections!

Entrance fee only– around £5 Free for English Heritage members.

July 29th – Field visit to Nigel Maunders proposed sites – Pendragon Castle, Outhgill & Great Musgrave

August 26th - Claire Hamer/Louise Moss: Bowber Head CA17 4NL (meet there, off A685,

9 miles from, Sedbergh if coming from the south, same distance from Tebay J38 from north) Claire and family live here; hut circles, stone circle, dragons etc to discover! £5 (£7 non-members)

September 30th - : Moor Divock site visit.

October 28th - Steve Buckley: Dowsing for Geopathic and Technopathic stress in your home

Talk & interactive workshop £5 (£7 non-members)

December 2nd - AGM followed by members’ contributions
